Pathway to Progress: Designers Chosen

Since the last update, the ONE Building Committee met with Bill Heyer, the architect of the 2020 Master Plan. He provided us with some enhancements to better utilize the campus overall and make room for potential expansion, if needed. The building committee is currently working through these ideas and hopes to be ready to present an updated Master Plan in the next several weeks.

Additionally, the committee interviewed and selected design firms for both the Marian Center renovation and the relocation of the athletic fields. Bauer Askew Architects was chosen for the Marian Center and Gresham Smith was chosen for the athletic fields. Next, the committee met with each of these firms to negotiate contracts and begin design work. The first step for each project will be a study phase to develop options, but ultimately, the best solution to meet our needs. This phase will take approximately two to three months. After this, the architects will explain their rationale to the building committee which will then present to the parish at large. Finally, a decision will be made for each project. Stay tuned!

In other areas, Leslee Dodd Karl continues to make progress on applications for grant money that will help us make the 30 acres just north of the campus more useful for school and parish activities. We are in the process of completing a Forestry Management Plan, as well as beginning to locate and identify significant trees on the property for preservation. If we are successful in obtaining forestry preservation funds, that work will begin sometime in 2024. More to come!
