Marriage Preparation

Goals and Purpose:

To prepare couples to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. Marriage preparation is required in order to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. Meetings with the priest help the couple gain a greater awareness of their duties as spouses in Holy Matrimony.

Responsibilities:

We want your wedding to be as beautiful and memorable as possible. Wedding arrangements must be made at least (6) months prior to the wedding. Please give enough time to complete Marriage preparation before your intended wedding date. Contact the Parish office at (615) 893-1843 to make an appointment with one of our priests or deacons. Saint Rose of Lima will not schedule a wedding date until freedom to marry is determined, and marriage preparation has begun. It is strongly recommended not to book any other venue until you've secured a wedding day and time at this parish.

Note: Weddings cannot take place during Advent, Lent (Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday) or Holy Week. Please see the resources for more wedding information/guidelines.

Please prayerfully watch this video going into the Sacrament of Marriage. Marriage preparation is important to this wonderful sacrament. Father Fye, from the Diocese of Nashville, speaks on this very importance and set the expectations going into your first meeting with our priests here at Saint Rose of Lima.
