His voice brings order and peace

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

The parable of the shepherd and the sheep is a perfect image of the Master-disciple relationship. To listen and recognize the shepherd's voice, calling each one by its name, leading them out, shows the deep connection between them. The disciple is a real disciple when he or she gets to this point. It doesn't happen when discipleship is fake or superficial.

In Jesus' time, it was common for the flocks of several shepherds to gather together to spend the night in the same place. In the morning, they would follow the voice of their own shepherd because they recognized each voice and knew which to follow.

The relationship between disciple and Master requires that the disciples to know who they should not follow. Quite a few shepherds are trying to herd us away from the true Shepherd. The disciple will know which voice to follow if he is guided by truth, love, and mercy.

May the Holy Spirit guide us in truth, love, and mercy always.

Su voz trae orden y paz

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La parábola del pastor y la oveja es una imagen perfecta de la relación Maestro-discípulo. Escuchar y reconocer la voz del pastor, llamar a cada uno por su nombre, dirigirlos, muestra la profunda conexión entre ellos. El discípulo es un verdadero discípulo cuando llega a este punto. No sucede cuando el discipulado es falso o superficial.

En tiempos de Jesús era común que los rebaños de varios pastores se reunieran para pasar la noche en un mismo lugar. Por la mañana seguían la voz de su propio pastor porque reconocían cada voz y sabían a cuál seguir.

La relación entre discípulo y Maestro requiere que los discípulos sepan a quién no deben seguir. Muchos pastores están tratando de alejarnos del verdadero Pastor. El discípulo sabrá qué voz seguir si se deja guiar por la verdad, el amor y la misericordia.

Que el Espíritu Santo nos guíe siempre en la verdad, el amor y la misericordia.
