Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

The contemplation of Jesus' transfiguration, during our Lenten journey, has a very precise reason. It is given to us to contemplate the Son who in a short time we will contemplate hanging on the cross. On Calvary, if we don't pay close attention, we can think of him as cursed by the Father, as his enemies would think and expect. Or as a disqualified criminal as the Romans would see and think about the crucified.

Transfigured, Jesus shows the interior beauty of his being, glorious and full of mercy. In the same way, the crucified Jesus is not what his enemies would think and see but rather the "beloved Son of the Father''.

The interior beauty of Jesus was so immense and attractive that the disciples did not want to leave the mountain. Naive of them! Jesus and the disciples had a journey planned by the Father and that experience was not the finish line but rather just a small break.

May the Holy Spirit help us to cherish our experiences of God's glory but never allow us to be tempted to stay in the Tabor's moments of life, but rather gain strength from it to continue our journey in faithful discipleship.

El Hijo Transfigurado

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La contemplación de la transfiguración de Jesús, durante nuestro camino cuaresmal, tiene un motivo muy preciso. Nos es dado para contemplar al Hijo que dentro de poco contemplaremos colgado en la cruz. En el Calvario, si no prestamos mucha atención, podemos pensar que él está maldecido por el Padre, como pensarían y esperarían sus enemigos. O como un criminal descalificado como lo verían y pensarían los romanos sobre el crucificado.

Transfigurado, Jesús muestra la belleza interior de su ser, glorioso y lleno de misericordia. Del mismo modo, Jesús crucificado no es lo que sus enemigos pensarían y verían sino el "amado Hijo del Padre".

La belleza interior de Jesús era tan inmensa y atractiva que los discípulos no quisieron abandonar el monte. ¡Ingenuo de su parte! Jesús y los discípulos tenían un viaje planeado por el Padre y esa experiencia no fue la meta sino solo un pequeño descanso.

Que el Espíritu Santo nos ayude a valorar nuestras experiencias de la gloria de Dios, pero nunca nos permita caer en la tentación de quedarnos en los momentos de la vida del Tabor, sino más bien sacar de él fuerza para continuar nuestro camino en fiel discipulado.
