Dear Fellow Disciples, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Today in the city of David, the savior is born!

The first ones to welcome Him were the shepherds in the periphery of Bethlehem. They were discriminated against and unwelcomed by everyone because their flock represented a threat to the farmers.

Mary and Joseph found a place close by them for no one had room in their inn for them. So, the shepherds were the first invited to see and recognize the Messiah just born. The One whose arrival was announced by the prophets for so long. In Him, they could see that the hope of salvation was indeed present and although He was just a little baby, on His shoulders dominion rests as the prophet Isaiah had said.

The "sign" about the truth of such a glorious event was nothing as great as some would have wanted. It was just a newborn baby, a poor baby, lying in a manger. The simplicity of the sign had something scandalous, and yet it bore the great love of God for humanity. Finally, Emmanuel was really with us, finally, God has planted the columns of His tent amongst ours, finally the Word was made flesh and started to dwell amongst us.

May the Holy Spirit help us to recognize and welcome our newborn King, Savior, God, and to walk with Him wherever He leads us.

Queridos discípulos, ¡FELIZ NAVIDAD! ¡Hoy en la ciudad de David nace el salvador!

Los primeros en acogerlo fueron los pastores de la periferia de Belén. Fueron discriminados y no bienvenidos por todos porque su rebaño representaba una amenaza para los agricultores.

María y José encontraron un lugar cerca de los pastores porque nadie tenía lugar para ellos en su posada. Así, ellos fueron los primeros invitados a ver y reconocer al Mesías recién nacido. Aquel cuya llegada fue anunciada por los profetas durante tanto tiempo. En Él pudieron ver que la esperanza de salvación sí estaba presente y aunque era solo un pequeño bebé, sobre Sus hombros descansa el dominio como lo había dicho el profeta Isaías.

La "señal" sobre la verdad de tan glorioso evento no fue tan grande como algunos hubieran querido. Era sólo un bebé recién nacido, un bebé pobre, acostado en un pesebre. La sencillez del signo tenía algo de escandalosa y, sin embargo, llevaba consigo el gran amor de Dios por la humanidad. Finalmente, Emmanuel estuvo realmente con nosotros. Finalmente, Dios había plantado las columnas de Su tienda entre las nuestras. Finalmente el Verbo se hizo carne y comenzó a habitar entre nosotros.

Que el Espíritu Santo nos ayude a reconocer y dar la bienvenida a nuestro recién nacido Rey, Salvador y Dios, y a caminar con Él dondequiera que nos guíe.
