The Seed of the Kingdom

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

The rural area of the Holy Land gave Jesus many opportunities and images for His teaching. The seed thrown on the earth is a great metaphor of the Kingdom working in the world. On one side, like the seed, the Kingdom has a dynamism free from human care. It grows and nobody knows how, producing fruit beyond human control. On the other side, as the mustard seed, the Kingdom grows and expands. Its nothingness become grandeur. What is hidden manifests itself slowly.

The disciples, striving to practice the value of God’s Kingdom, slowly but surely start to develop such values in such a way it before they notice they already give shelter and share grace with many. For they know “it is God who makes everything grow” in His time.

My dear God, let the Holy Spirit be the water and the fertilizer which will make me grow as You wish and planned. That I become great to give good fruit in the world and small that they see only You in me and through me.

La Semilla del Reino

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La zona rural de la Tierra Santa le dio a Jesús muchas oportunidades e imágenes para su enseñanza. La semilla arrojada a la tierra es una gran metáfora del Reino obrando en el mundo. Por un lado, como la semilla, el Reino tiene un dinamismo libre de cuidados humanos. Crece y nadie sabe cómo, produciendo frutos fuera del control humano. Por otro lado, como el grano de mostaza, el Reino crece y se expande. Su nada se convierte en grandeza. Lo que está oculto se manifiesta lentamente.

Los discípulos, esforzándose por practicar el valor del Reino de Dios, poco a poco comienzan a desarrollar dichos valores de tal manera que antes de darse cuenta ya dan refugio y comparten la gracia con muchos. Porque saben que “es Dios quien hace que todo crezca” en Su tiempo.

Mi querido Dios, deja que el Espíritu Santo sea el agua y el abono que me haga crecer como Tú deseas y planeas. Que me haga grande para dar buenos frutos en el mundo y pequeño para que te vean sólo a Ti en mí y a través de mí.
