We sow the seeds of the Word, others will reap

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

The parable of the sower calls attention to some important points on the missionary work of the disciples. Their work is to sow, not worry about the harvest. They need to reach out to as many people as possible.

It is required of them to understand that the Word is received in different ways. That's why it can be well received and bear fruits of different proportions or be wasted and lost. So worrying too much or imposing it on the listeners is counterproductive. They and we all need to remember "Jesus proposes, does not impose". This is the beauty of discipleship, we are free to respond or not.

The response will depend on each heart in which the Word is sowed. In the heart well disposed, the possibilities of it bearing much fruit are high. In a heart closed or corrupt it will require way more work and perseverance in case the seed, the Word is lost.

The disciple who has already experienced the transformation done by the Word in his/her life is capable of assisting others in opening their heart to experience the transforming power of the Word in their life.

May the Holy Spirit continue to sustain our efforts of evangelization, in bringing the Word made flesh and Eucharist to others.

Sembramos semillas de la palabra, otros cosecharan

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La parábola del sembrador llama la atención sobre algunos puntos importantes sobre la obra misionera de los discípulos. Su trabajo es sembrar, no preocuparse por la cosecha. Necesitan llegar a tantas personas como sea posible.

Se requiere que ellos entiendan que la Palabra se recibe de diferentes maneras. Por eso puede ser bien recibida y dar frutos de diferentes proporciones o desperdiciarse y perderse. Así que preocuparse demasiado o imponerlo a los oyentes es contraproducente. Ellos, y todos; debemos recordar que "Jesús propone, no impone". Esta es la belleza del discipulado, somos libres de responder o no.

La respuesta dependerá de cada corazón en el que se siembre la Palabra. En el corazón bien dispuesto, las posibilidades de que dé mucho fruto son altas. En un corazón cerrado o corrupto se requerirá mucho más trabajo y perseverancia en caso de que se pierda la semilla, la Palabra.

El discípulo que ya experimentó la transformación hecha por la Palabra en su vida es capaz de ayudar a otros a abrir su corazón para experimentar el poder transformador de la Palabra en su vida.

Que el Espíritu Santo continúe sosteniendo nuestros esfuerzos de evangelización, llevando a los demás la Palabra hecha carne y la Eucaristía.
