Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

Today’s Gospel reminds us that the way of Christ is the way of humility. Jesus teaches us that when invited to a banquet, we should not seek the places of honor but take the lowest seat. In God’s Kingdom, greatness is not measured by power, status, or recognition, but by service, humility, and love.

Discipleship means walking the same path as Jesus. He humbled Himself, becoming obedient even to death on the Cross, and because of this God exalted Him. Our mission as His disciples is to reflect that same humility in the world—a humility that opens doors for the Gospel.

When we serve with humility, we make Christ visible. When we reach out to the poor, the forgotten, and those who cannot repay us, we proclaim the Good News in a language louder than words: the language of love. Today, let us ask ourselves: Do I seek recognition in my service, or do I serve quietly, trusting that God sees the heart? Am I willing to take the lowest place so that Christ may be exalted in me?

True discipleship leads to mission, and true mission flows from humility. May we learn from the Master who came not to be served but to serve, so that our lives may become an invitation for others to taste the banquet of God’s Kingdom. May the Holy Spirit enkindle in us the virtue of humility which will empower our discipleship and mission.

Hacer visible a Cristo a través del servicio humilde

Queridos Discipulos, paz.

El Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda que el camino de Cristo es el de la humildad. Jesús nos enseña que, al ser invitados a un banquete, no debemos buscar los puestos de honor, sino ocupar el último lugar. En el Reino de Dios, la grandeza no se mide por el poder, el estatus ni el reconocimiento, sino por el servicio, la humildad y el amor.

El discipulado significa seguir el mismo camino que Jesús. Él se humilló, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte en la cruz, y por eso Dios lo exaltó. Nuestra misión como discípulos suyos es reflejar esa misma humildad en el mundo: una humildad que abre las puertas al Evangelio.

Cuando servimos con humildad, hacemos visible a Cristo. Cuando nos acercamos a los pobres, a los olvidados y a quienes no pueden correspondernos, proclamamos la Buena Nueva en un lenguaje más fuerte que las palabras: el lenguaje del amor. Hoy, preguntémonos: ¿Busco reconocimiento en mi servicio, o sirvo en silencio, confiando en que Dios ve el corazón? ¿Estoy dispuesto a aceptar el último lugar para que Cristo sea exaltado en mí?

El verdadero discipulado conduce a la misión, y la verdadera misión surge de la humildad. Aprendamos del Maestro que vino no a ser servido, sino a servir, para que nuestras vidas se conviertan en una invitación para que otros disfruten del banquete del Reino de Dios.

Que el Espíritu Santo encienda en nosotros la virtud de la humildad que potenciará nuestro discipulado y nuestra misión.
