Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

Today, the Church celebrates two great pillars of our faith: Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Though very different in background and temperament—Peter, the humble fisherman, and Paul, the learned Pharisee—they were united in one mis sion: to proclaim Christ to the world.

Peter reminds us of our human weakness. He denied Jesus three times, yet Jesus still chose him to be the rock of the Church. This shows that God does not call the perfect, but He perfects those He calls. Paul’s life reminds us of the power of conver sion. From persecutor to apostle, his encounter with Christ changed everything. His life is a witness that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

Both suffered martyrdom in Rome, giving their lives for the Gospel. Today, their blood is the seed of our faith. We are invited to follow their example: to be faithful, bold, and joyful witnesses of Christ in our own time.

May Saints Peter and Paul pray for us, and inspire our own discipleship so that we too may build up the Church with courage and love.

San Pedro Y San Pablo, Apóstoles

Queridos Discípulos, paz.

Hoy, la Iglesia celebra dos grandes pilares de nuestra fe: San Pedro y San Pablo. Aunque de orígenes y temperamentos muy diferentes -Pedro, el humilde pescador, y Pablo, el erudito fariseo-, estaban unidos en una misma misión: anunciar a Cristo al mundo.

Pedro nos recuerda nuestra debilidad humana. Negó a Jesús tres veces, pero aun así Jesús lo eligió para ser la roca de la Iglesia. Esto demuestra que Dios no llama a los perfectos, sino que perfecciona a quienes llama. La vida de Pablo nos recuerda el poder de la conversión. De perseguidor a apóstol, su encuentro con Cristo lo cambió todo. Su vida es testimonio de que nadie está fuera del alcance de la gracia de Dios.

Ambos sufrieron el martirio en Roma, entregando su vida por el Evangelio. Hoy, su sangre es la semilla de nuestra fe. Estamos invitados a seguir su ejemplo: a ser testigos fieles, valientes y gozosos de Cristo en nuestro tiempo.

Que los santos Pedro y Pablo oren por nosotros e inspiren nuestro propio discipulado para que tambien nosotros podamos construir la Iglesia con valentía y amor.
