Dear fellow Disciples, peace.

The narrative of Lazarus' resurrection calls attention to the motive of Jesus' violent death. The fact that many Jews started to believe in Him put in motion the wrath of the religious leaders. His great gesture seemed to put at risk the faith of the people. Jesus was placing Himself at the same level of Yahweh, God of life and death. Resurrecting Lazarus, He performed something which was due only to God. From there comes their decision to put Him to death.

Jesus on His side is not worried about anything else but rather to inspire faith, hope, trust and discipleship , which includes conversion, in those he meets. "If you believe you'll see the glory of God". Faith must be a concrete decision of the intellect and the heart and must generate trust and conversion in a life of "sequela Christi", which means discipleship.

Do we believe with our intellect and our heart? Or our faith depends only on how we feel each day? The time is here in which such faith will not survive. A mature faith leads to commitment and also to Calvary for without Calvary there will be no empty tomb.

Our Elect, this Sunday will have their 3rd scrutiny, For the third time we'll question them about their resolve to be part of us, as Christian and Catholics. It has been our duty to assist them with our word and witness of the Faith. Their journey should also question ours... are we witnessing Christ with faith, hope, trust, conversion and discipleship?

I hope and pray that we are.

Let us pray that God the Father through the Holy Spirit helps us to see in Jesus' actions a continuous call to follow Him, to witness His glory, to be ONE as They are ONE, to be His presence.

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La narración de la resurrección de Lázaro llama la atención sobre el motivo de la muerte violenta de Jesús. El hecho de que muchos judíos comenzaran a creer en Él desató la ira de los líderes religiosos. Su gran gesto pareció poner en riesgo la fe de la gente. Jesús se estaba poniendo al mismo nivel de Yahvé, Dios de vida y de la muerte. Al resucitar a Lázaro, realizó algo que debía ser realizado únicamente por Dios. De allí viene la decisión de darle muerte.

Jesús por su parte no se preocupa de otra cosa sino de inspirar fe, esperanza, confianza y discipulado, que incluye la conversión, en aquellos con los que se encuentra. “Si crees verás la gloria de Dios”. La fe debe ser una decisión concreta del intelecto y del corazón y debe generar confianza y conversión en una vida de "sequela Christi", que significa discipulado.

¿Creemos con nuestro intelecto y nuestro corazón? ¿O nuestra fe depende solo de cómo nos sentimos cada día? Ha llegado el momento en que tal fe no sobrevivirá. Una fe madura lleva al compromiso y también al calvario porque sin calvario no habrá sepulcro vacío.

Nuestros Elegidos, este domingo tendrán su 3er escrutinio, por tercera vez les preguntaremos sobre su voluntad de ser parte de nosotros, como cristianos y católicos. Ha sido nuestro deber asistirlos con nuestra palabra y testimonio de Fe. Su camino también debe cuestionar el nuestro... ¿estamos dando testimonio de Cristo con fe, esperanza, confianza, conversión y discipulado?

Espero y rezo para que lo estemos.

Oremos para que Dios Padre a través del Espíritu Santo nos ayude a ver en las acciones de Jesús un llamado continuo a seguirlo, a testimoniar Su gloria, a ser UNO como Ellos son UNO, a ser Su presencia.
