Capital Campaign - March Update

Athletic Field

The Army Corps of Engineers and TDEC have reviewed our updated wetland delineation and concur with our consultant’s findings that the wetlands on the property are significantly less extensive than initially anticipated. This positive development provides greater flexibility in site planning. As a result, we have directed our consultant to reassess the orientation of the football/soccer and baseball fields to enhance their functionality.

Additionally, Leslee Dodd and Ben Garretson from the Nature Sanctuary Committee assisted in identifying and inventorying key trees on the site. These have been incorporated into the revised Master Plan. We should receive an updated Plan within the next few weeks.

New Marian Center

The design phase for the new Marian Center is complete. We are now finalizing the parking lot layout and utility connections. Our building designer has provided updated renderings and a video walkthrough, both will be available on the church’s website

We are working through the approval process with the City of Murfreesboro planning department in preparation for our building permit application. The next step is issuing bid packages to pre-selected contractors. If you know of an interested contractor, please contact Wayne Overman (wjoverman@dtkjllc.com). We plan to present our proposal to the diocesan financial committee on June 27 and begin construction as soon as possible thereafter.

Demolition of the existing structure is also moving forward. We have secured a contract, completed asbestos removal in the kitchen floor tile, coordinated permits with the city and state, and are ready to proceed in the coming weeks.

McGivney Center

We have received approval from the city to expand parking at the McGivney Center. Contractor proposals have been received, and we are in the process of obtaining approval from the diocese. Once approved, we will apply for a building permit and begin construction.
