Peaceful and positive transition

Parishioners keep asking me if I am excited about my move to the monastery, and the answer is yes. But frankly I don't have much time to think about it -- the time will come for that -- because of all the good things happening in the parish and the preparations for a peaceful and positive transition for the new pastor. First, we don't know who that is yet, but keep praying for him anyway! One fixed point we know is that the day of transition will be Monday, June 27. We will know the new pastor before then!

There is good news to report about parish staffing: Sr. Catherine Marie, O.P. will be back for her sixth year as principal next year. We are blessed to have such a dedicated and experienced sister leading our school! Also, returning are Sr. Anna Margaret in the second grade, and Sr. Margaret Mary in the eighth grade. We are glad they are returning. Sr. Isabel Marie is being assigned to St. Mary's in Oak Ridge, and Sr. Emma will be joining us here at Saint Rose in the fourth grade. Thanks to Sr. Isabel Marie for her service here, and we wish her well in her new assignment.

A wonderful way to welcome the new pastor is for our liturgical ministries to be fully staffed. I cannot tell you how helpful it is as the celebrant at Mass to know that everything is taken care of by dependable and well-trained ministers. I am delighted that we are enrolling and training new ministers at this time. I also want to encourage those who have been serving to understand how helpful your dependability is, especially to a new pastor. Stewardship of talent will help with the transition to a new pastor and so will stewardship of treasure. Offertory collections that are regular and increasing take a concern off a new pastor and give you a sense of participation in the parish mission!

Transición pacífica y positiva

Los feligreses me siguen preguntando si estoy entusiasmado con mi traslado al monasterio, y la respuesta es sí. Pero, francamente, no tengo mucho tiempo para pensar en eso, ya llegará el momento, debido a todas las cosas buenas que están sucediendo en la parroquia y los preparativos para una transición pacífica y positiva para el nuevo párroco. Primero, todavía no sabemos quién es, ¡pero sigamos orando por él de todos modos! Un punto fijo que sabemos es que el día de la transición será el lunes 27 de junio. ¡Conoceremos al nuevo pastor antes de esa fecha!

Hay buenas noticias que informar sobre el personal de la parroquia: la Hna. Catherine Marie, O.P. regresará en su sexto año como directora el próximo año. ¡Tenemos la bendición de tener una hermana tan dedicada y experimentada al frente de nuestra escuela! También regresan la Hna. Anna Margaret en segundo grado y la Hna. Margaret Mary en octavo grado. Nos alegramos de que regresen. La Hna. Isabel Marie está siendo asignada a St. Mary's en Oak Ridge, y la Hna. Emma se unirá a nosotros aquí en Saint Rose en el cuarto grado. Gracias a la Hna. Isabel Marie por su servicio aquí, y le deseamos lo mejor en su nueva asignación.

Una forma maravillosa de dar la bienvenida al nuevo párroco es que nuestros ministerios litúrgicos cuenten con todo el personal necesario. No puedo decirles lo útil que es, como celebrante de la Misa, saber que todo está a cargo de ministros confiables y bien capacitados. Estoy encantado de que estemos inscribiendo y entrenando nuevos ministros en este momento. También quiero animar a aquellos que han estado sirviendo a entender cuán útil es su confiabilidad, especialmente para un nuevo pastor. La administración del talento ayudará con la transición a un nuevo pastor y también la administración del tesoro. ¡Las colectas de ofertorio que son regulares y crecientes quitan la preocupación de un nuevo párroco y le dan un sentido de participación en la misión parroquial!
