The Backpack ministry, with the help of donations from St. Rose Parishioners, has prepared 784 Weekend Backpack Bags thus far in this current school year. Our Ministry is grateful for each and every food donation you have provided. We have just completed an inventory of our pantry shelves to determine exactly how many of each item we will need in order to prepare the remaining 126 bags required to be filled and delivered this current school year.
Of the 20 items we normally place in each of the Weekend Bags, we have determined that we do not currently have enough of the six items listed below to fill the Weekend Bags until the end of this school year. Each of these items meet the requirements of the Weekend Backpack Program in Rutherford County.
As we obtain the number of each item needed to meet our needs for the remainder of this school year, I will have that item removed from this list. Thank you for all of the donations that allow us to include St. Rose Catholic Church with other churches and organizations in Rutherford County which work to provide these school children with weekend food bags.
As a reminder, size is important. All of the items we provide in the weekend backpacks are placed in a single one-gallon ziplock bag to fit in student’s Backpacks. Please write Backpack Meals on your donation and place it in the Pantry Food Chest located in the Narthex. Thank you for your generosity.
